It's despicable that he took what really happened with him, but can't pretend I'm sorry he's gone.

I was a bit down after hearing, but then I realized it wasn't because he died. It was because one of the big mysteries since I first started researching the Amityville stories was how he was able to murder everybody in their beds.
If how Ronnie was able to murder everybody in their beds is still a big mystery to you...here is a case that will put things in perspective...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Ruppert

...less than six months after the DeFeo murders...James Ruppert killed eleven family members.

Unlike the DeFeo family members...who were sleeping and extremely vulnerable...the Ruppert family members were wide awake. No one was able to escape...and the only sign of struggle was an overturned gargage can.

It's also interesting to note that while Ronnie fired eight shots...James Ruppert fired a total of 41 shots...at a time when most neighbors would have been awake...yet none of the neighbors reported hearing anything.

And the Ruppert home was much closer to neighboring homes than 112 Ocean Avenue was...

...41 shots...and not a single neighbor heard a thing.
This is an interesting case which I had never known about until now. The house was not as close to water as the Amityville house though. I have been wondering whether being on or near a river can affect sound travelling.

Interesting observation.
No, based on the evidence provided, the water waves can’t hide the sound of gunshots. Although Ronnie took the truth to his grave, that’s just part of his Italian DNA.

You see, when John F Kennedy got assassinated in the 60s, there was a high probability that the Italian mob leader at that time, Santos Trafficante Junior, had some sort of involvement. But by the time FBI started to confront him, he declined every possibility and took the rest to his grave, similar to Ronnie’s case

I had heard several sources claim Carlos Marcello out of New Orleans was the main conspirator from the Mob viewpoint.

A lot of people have different views on how the assassination took out.

Idk about Carlos, but Santos must’ve had some sort of relationship with the Cuban mob because they were desperate to take out both the Cuban leader and the president

Perhaps Castro’s goal was to bring civilization to Cuba, so millions of Cuban criminals had been incarcerated

Santos had casinos in Havana which he lost and was of the understanding was going to get them back. The bay of pigs fiasco killed that. So yes he was possibly a co-conspirator.

If you're interested, try reading: The Trafficantes: Godfathers from Tampa, Florida : the Mafia, the CIA, and the JFK Assassination on KindleUnlimited

The book is interesting in terms of the Mafian history between the crime bosses

Thanks I will. Have read Jim Garrison's book and Jim Marrs' book which were based on the movie JFK. That Jack Ruby was an interesting character to say the least.

Speaking of JFK, I remember when the internet was blasted with conspiracy theories in links to the assassination, despite the killer being caught.

The babushka lady was another possible suspect, and rumors saying that she was some sort undercover Russian agent or spy at that time. And getting the rid of the president was one of her motive.
You can spot her in a few pics where she is calmly seen capturing the assassination on a device of some sort, while everyone else in the crowd is in complete panic mode.

I think the ley lines are very strong in Amityville, to mute the gunshot sounds. Shotgun sounds on there very own can actually deafen people if shot in environments like small rooms.
Amityville fan since 1995, believer of the case, often imitated but never replicated
