Re: Sooo what does everyone think of...
I think the fact it wasn't bombarded with special effects to the point it could be unrealistic certainly helped.

Devil-
The Paranormal Activity (not talking about Paranormal Entity) DVD can easily be purchased anywhere... you should give it a try (it's not expensive at all).

I enjoyed both PA movies, except for all the :) flower :) in the theater during part 2. I think its getting worse and worse going to the movies these days. Really never had a problem til the last year or so.
Paranormal Entity wasn't that bad either. Checked it out on 'netflix instant'

Re: Paranormal Activity movies
haha, it was actually something else- didn't know we were censored here, but was just complaining about the 'idiots' in the theater. Out of probably 30 people in the theater, at least 20 were talking, texting, even taking phonecalls. Even paid extra to see it in XD, thinking people would actually watch the movie.

Re: Paranormal Activity movies
You know... bummer for you. I went on opening night here in Dallas. It was packed to the gills. People were "INTO IT". They got super quiet when the movie began and when things got intense, everyone was very into it. Perfect atmosphere. Sorry to hear you had to be around people like that. That would be a drag.
9 months to go for Paranormal 3.

Re: Paranormal Activity movies
Paranormal Activity 2 somehow kept just about the entire plot a secret until the movie was released, and they actually put some thought into the movie (Unlike Blair Witch 2). They could have thrown anything on the screen and made a profit, but now they have a chance to make something out of PA3

Re: Paranormal Activity movies
There was actually a sequel to Paranormal activity?I never even saw the first one.I had just finished watching A haunting in Conneticut and I thought it was a flop, didnt even startle me at all.I think the moviemakers of today focus more on the graphics and special affects rather than try to make them as suspenseful and scary as possible. Its a joke.

There are too many things I cant explain that happened in that house.Harry, our dog at the time, tried to hang himself. G.Lutz

Re: Paranormal Activity movies
So I watched Paranormal Entity 2 last night...
...which purports to take place in the house built over John Wayne Gacy's old home. The house is meant to have been abandoned in 2002 with the investigation taking place 4 years later... yet the house is still fully furnished and in good working order!
Better yet, they try and summon the ghost of Gacy (who didn't even die there) when a female psychic offers up a t-shirt of her 15-yo neighbours son because "I know you liked your boys young"
...and it's not even scary.

Re: Paranormal Activity movies
I saw that movie a few weeks ago sherb. I was disappointed.
On a side note, i saw the new Liam Neeson movie the other night. It was excellent! (Unknown) Not horror tho....kind of like the bourne movies, but much better.

http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/24423'Paranormal Activity 3' Snags 'Catfish' Duo!
What a catch!
With Paramount Pictures aiming to get the film in theaters by October 21, 2011, Bloody Disgusting and Dread Central exclusively learned that Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman have come aboard Paranormal Activity 3 from a screenplay by Christopher B. Landon (Disturbia).
Joost and Schulman broke onto the scene with the popular pseudo-doc Catfish. Schulman will co-produce Paranormal Activity 3 alongside Jason Blum and the original creator Oren Peli with Steven Schneider and Akiva Goldsman executive producing. The quartet are coming off the recent success of Insidious, which is now this years most profitable film.
They should hire Geraldine Gates as "technical advisor" (watch Catfish and you'll understand

Re: Paranormal Activity movies
Finally got around to watching PA2 tonight. Wasn't there supposed to be something with the mirror? Something either appearing (or not appearing) in the mirror? Just did a Google search and all I could find was stuff related to the trailer, which doesn't seem to be included in the film. I even went back and watched the film 2 more times (at fast speed) trying to find it. Am I missing it, or was it just in the trailer?

Re: Paranormal Activity movies
Wouldn't it have been quicker just to watch the trailer?
I *think* there's an extra bit with the reflection of the baby...? Or something.

Re: Paranormal Activity movies
**SPOILERS IN THIS POST**
I did look at the trailer (plus stills from the trailer) and I didn't see where that one scene was presented in the film. I thought maybe I missed it, so I went back to hunt for it (I wanted to see how it was presented in the film). Frankly there are many clips of the baby's room where nothing seems to be happening, so I thought I was missing something. Like that part where the mobile over the baby's crib starts to move on its own -- I didn't notice that until I went through the film a second time.
The only weird thing I noticed about the mirror in the baby's room was that one night when it was warping, as if being bent back & forth (and that one scene of the baby ignoring his mom and pointing at the mirror).
Anyway, I'm just asking because the other night I was talking with a friend on the phone, and I thought he mentioned something about "how weird it was when the lady's reflection wasn't in the mirror" (but I may be remembering that wrong).
