I also have a home here in my small, little town that looks like the Amityville house. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=39.013515 ... 02105&z=16

Nice one Elijah! Reminds me of a few houses I see in my area!

So far most of the houses in this thread would have been better than the house they used in the remake. lol

Thanks. Lol. You're right, they would've. i think they just used the house they used because they wanted to show they bought it at $80,000 Dollars, and have it be a GIANT house to show a "dream house" effect. But ya, I wouldve used these houses on here. Or they couldve tooken pics of your replica house and use a GIANT green screen to make it look real. Lol

I always tell myself I wish I could shrink myself so I could live in the house I made... but, one big problem is that there's really no rooms inside my house... lol no stairs or anything... so that would be an issue!

Took these a very long time ago... came across them recently and scanned them in. A distant releative bought a new home, my grandparents took me to the housewarming, and this house was right across the street, so I asked if they had a camera, so I ran out and took these. I remember seeing quite a few houses like this one in the area with the "windows" in the attic.

Sorry about the bluryness cause phones back when I took this pic werent good for capturing pics in motion. This house is located in Vineland, NJ about 2 hours southwest of Toms River. It sits on the corner of Landis Ave. and Columbia Dr. This place is actually a lawyers office, has the gambrel roof like the facade in Toms River and is big in height but no quarter-round windows.

Yeah I felt weird taking mine, too lol but I wanted to share them, so, being that my camera is always in my laptop bag, which is usually always with me, I would take the picture randomly if I felt no one were around.

I know there is one about a 30 minute drive from where I live.
It's not a Dutch colonial, nor does it have a sunroom extension,
But the front view of the house totally reminds me of the Amityville house.
In fact, the hostel I currently live in is about the same size as the Ireland house.

It's like a hybrid of the Amityville house and Ireland house. Same colours as
112, but similar size and layout to Ireland House.
It is better to return a borrowed pot with a little something you last cooked in it.

The last one has nice BIG quarter rounds. I like that! When I shoot up home back to Jersey next month, I'm going to go into Vineland and get a clearer shot of the same house I posted here that was blurry. It has the same roof structure and height as the house in Toms River with the gambrel roof. Theres other thing with it though that throw it off and does not have quarter round windows. But if it did, it would look exactly like the movie house in the 1st 3 movies!

There's a few houses in my area that have the bigger windows that I've put up on here, there's this one house that has the windows/chimney on both sides, one side has a sun porch too. Only difference is the roof is regular triangle shape and the front doesn't have as many windows, 5 instead of 9. I'll have to get a picture of it someday.

This is a clearer shot of the blurry one I posted here. I also posted this place on another thread. Add some quarter round windows to this and what do you have?

Wow that's a really close look alike!

It reminds me of what the house looked like in Amityville 3D when they didn't add the windows to the left side of the house.

Exactly! I put a comparison of this house and the toms river house right before the 3d filming on the high hopes page on FB. They look exactly alike!

See, if I bought a house, even if it just had one side that looked like the "sun porch" side of the house, I would be happy lol

Even if the rest of the outside looked different, as long as I had my "Amityville Face" (from the movie house, of course) I would be happy with that. And this looks like it could be the house for it! lol

Heres a better zoomed out shot of it. I'm also doing the comparison here with the 3D version of the Toms River house too. This house here in Vineland, NJ would be an easy setup to make it look like the movie house just by putting in the quarter round windows. Only thing with this on this side is theres a window in the chimney which is weird. The porch side has no chimney on the outside. Other than that, there isnt much to this house that needs to be modified. The gambrel roof has the same dimension as well as the square footage. I dont know what the inside looks like though but it is being used as a lawyers office.

Check the comparison...
