I don't know that Amityville 3-D is set after Amityville 4. Once the evil in the house manifested itself in the lamp, the house was "cleared", at least according to the one priest. I think after part 3, there really is no order to the movies, they contradict one another:

- At the end of part 2 (which is chronologically before part 1), the house is up for sale.
- At the end of part 1, the house is abandoned.
- At the end of part 3, the house explodes and there is nothing left standing but the front door overhang.
- In part 4, the house returns, is cleared and empty.
- In part 6, the house was said to have been demolished for a new residential development.
- In part 7, Amityville is relocated upstate.
- In part 8, Amityville is relocated again - this time to a California desert. The house supposedly burned down.

Watched them all (5 and new generation were torture to get through) here's the chronology that i discovered.

1.The Amityville Horror
2.Amityville: The Evil Escapes
3.Amityville Curse (different house in Amityville)
4.Amityville 1992 (note the house is torn down by Sterling)
5.New Generation (Note the clock from 1992 is present in the flashback scene)
6.Doll House

Amityville II and 3-D were dropped from the chronology it appears. Looks like they followed the path that the Halloween films went down.

If I put them in chronological order... excluding "Curse" and "Haunting"

1) Amityville II: The Possession (Loosely based on the Defeo murders)
2) The Amityville Horror (After the Defeo murders)
3) Amityville: The Evil Escapes (Being that the house blows up in 3D, I would assume this is BEFORE the house blows up and after the Lutz's move out and leave their belongins behind.)
4) Amityville 3D (They say the house was cleared in "Evil Escapes", but the only way this movie fits is if it's after, being that the house is no-more after this movie)
5) Amityville: It's About Time
6) Amityville: A New Generation
7: Amityville: Dollhouse

Really? Where is the clock in New Generation? I never noticed it! lol

I don't regard Amityville II as a prequel, i've always regarded it as a sequel.

As for the clock, here it is in Amityville 7

and here it is in Amityville 6

I've never noticed that the clock made a cameo appearance in A New Generation.

I was looking at the set to see the difference and noticed it, and I think it was a attempt to establish a continuity (which ultimatley failed). As Dollhouse went in a completely different direction

It actually makes sense that the house in 3-D is haunted again because although it was cleared in 4, its hard to keep a place cleared of evil when there is a "Gateway to Hell" in the basement

The house from Amityville 4 also appears in the 2012 movie V/H/S.

There is a segment occurring on Halloween where four guys are on their way to a costume party. One guy is dressed as a nanny cam (teddy bear with a camera on his head). They get to what they think is the house where the party is, but nobody answers the door. They go around the house and go in a back door. They look around, finding their way to the attic where a cult sacrifice is about to take place. They think it's part of the party until....well, you'll have to watch it. ;) Overall, the movie was kind of predictable, I thought.

I think we tried watching that movie... it just didn't appeal to us much.

I'm not huge into the "live cam" movies either... Blair Witch almost made me vomit from motion sickness lol

Yeah, I thought it was just so laughably predictable, literally. Throughout the entire movie, I repeatedly kept saying to the screen "Are you that dumb that you don't see that?" Then something scary would happen, and I was laughing at it.

Another Amityville 4 location found.

The hospital is California Hospital Medical Center, 1414 South Hope Street, Los Angeles. The exteriors and interiors were filmed here.

Unfortunately the building suffered earthquake damage in 1994 which caused it to close. It was replaced in 2000 by a modern hospital building.
