Any of you guys ever read the book, The Other Side," by Denice Jones?

It's "The True Story Of The Boy Who Sees Ghosts"

One of the pictures that this boy's mom takes of him has him standing near the front door of their home, which features a front door with glass paned windows.

The kid is standing in the picture and the caption reads, "Michael near the front door of the family home---one of many places where he saw the shadow man. Note the black cloud in the upper left-hand corner and the FACE in the small windows of the front door."

Above this kid's head is what I can only describe as big black smoke hovering over him, and the face in the window is something sinister--evil. It's NOT the face of of human form....can't describe it but you guys HAVE to find this book and see this photo.
This will scare the crud out of all of you, as it did me!
And that black form/smoke? It's ONLY in a small spot and the rest of the picture is clear as day.

I wish I had a picture of this kid, with that "face" staring into the door. Now that is something to see, as well as the black "cloud" floatting over this kid's head!

photo w/ faces in the windows

Post by at2ecw » Sun Feb 12, 2006 9:09 pm

i can see the faces everyone is talking about. all but the one at the bottom left can be discredited pretty easy. the picture was taken in the daytime as it was bright outside. you can tell the curtains had patterns in it. if i am wrong then george will have to tell us exactly if the curtains had patterns or not. that bottom left picture in the window does look like a half-face but can be a curtain there also. the way they hang can be very decieving. it still looks pretty darn creepy and it possibly could be real. in most cases of pictures that i have seen that are real like this one is the faces in windows, shadows, figures etc. are much smaller. huge faces covering a whole window is kind of odd unless the spirits are like that invisible demon/ghost in that other movie the entity. that was a big sucker lol i won't deny the faces but i need to know some more information about those curtains/blinds.

Below is an image that you can see in the famous "Newsday" photo. Just over the "High Hopes" sign, you can see what appears to be a demonic-looking face peering out from behind a window pane. Most people pick it up right away (and say that it looks kinda like Linda Blair from the Exorcist). Assuming most people don't see it right away, I created an image which helps you to see it more clearly. I've added a dramatic comparison underneath the original photo to give it a creepy perspective in case you're having a hard time seeing a face.

By the way, I had to place this huge, disgusting, ugly-ass watermark in the middle of the picture because the last 3 times I altered Amityville pictures, someone went and posted them all over the internet having mis-labeled them and it caused all sorts of confusion. LOL, so I apologize ahead of time :)

That is what I seen when I first looked at the image of the house. I did not see any other faces in the picture.

Billy Cigars Picture Explained...

Post by BladeDragonLord » Fri Feb 24, 2006 7:56 am

Hi and greetings, to all on the board! :)

Just to clarify, I do believe in ghosts and evil spirits, and have a personal belief in God the Father, through Jesus Christ his Son. I'm not a skeptic of spiritual things or the supernatural, just so you know! :) I'm also an Aussie, so Oy, Oy, Oy!

In reply to Billy Cigars post and with respect to your good work, I sadly have to point out something and it actually annoyed me a little when I saw what I was looking at was not what I first saw, as it's quite easy to see the strange half face in the window above the "High Hopes" sign. However the full picture shows what it actually is...

Will do this a step at a time and get you the reader to follow along.

Please look at the full picture "Newsday Photo", it's on the front page of this site!

Please look at the sign for "High Hopes", look above the "s" in high hopes and the cross beam that the sign is attached to by a chain, notice the chain, it has a largish eyelet (attached to an unseen bolt going vertically into the horizontal post) and a smaller chain running down to the actual sign. Now please remember this...

Now please look at the right most bottom window on the front of the house, please look at the same frame of glass in this window as the other window, the front windows of the house open from the center, so the window is 2 parts a left and right side, please examine this and you will see what appears to be a curved handle for opening the windows.

Have you seen what I am speaking about? Both the eyelet and chain for attaching the sign and the curved handle?

Let's go back to the half face, look at the sign again in front of the window with the half face, notice the eye and nose (facial details) are actually the eyelet and chain attaching the sign to the crossbeam, the wicked mouth is actually the curved handle for opening the 2 piece windows.

I can't explain the half a face white material (the basis for the face) aside from the possibly obvious curtain material or an object inside the room.

Sorry to disappoint anybody, am happy with my detective work though! :)

BTW, just to seriously freak people out, I do actually see other non explainable faces in the windows though, just not that one!

Thanks for reading!

PS. Can anyone tell me what the male figure with the child on his chest is below the, "Hig", in, "High Hopes"? I assume this is a real figurine? Is this a Catholic thing (no offence just ignorant on this one), something like the Sacred Heart Of Christ?

Whoa,

Being somewhat skeptical of what you thought was an eyelet, I went back and looked more carefully. You may actually be onto something!! In fact, you might be right......

Anyone else want to chime in on that?

ps. Welcome to the forum all you new people!!!

Thanks and Alice Cooper...

Post by BladeDragonLord » Sat Feb 25, 2006 8:53 am

BillyCigars, thanks for your kind words of welcome, your thoughts and for taking a look, at my investigations. Would be interested what other people thought as well!

Not sure if anyone has said anything about this other face though, if you look at the middle window lower floor, the second window pane down from the squirrel's tail, at the junction of the of the vertical and horizontal of the high hopes sign.

There seems to be a face in the right side of the pane of glass... does anyone see a face that is turned right (yet the eyes face forward) and is vaguely similar to that of Alice Cooper (if the black around the face was consider long hair, from his "Trash" album days) or even Bono from U2 with glasses on. (I'm sure they'd both be pleased to think their images were portrayed in the Amityville House, NOT.)

The interesting thing about this face, is the rest of the curtains around in the other close window panes seem to have a close flowery pattern, yet this face does seem to have a large section of white/greyish face basis.

Again inviting thoughts... Alice Cooper, Bono or Curtain Pattern?

Thanks ZodiacMinnow that's exactly what I meant! :D Interesting likeness isn't it? In all seriousness though if you blow up the picture it looks quite hideous.

Thanks Persephone for the warm welcome! :D

NICE WORK BLADE

Post by stonethecrow » Fri Mar 03, 2006 10:23 pm

blade, after careful inspection i can say, in my honest opinion, that you are 100% correct.

I too believe the house to be haunted, however, when something is starting you in the face...it is....indeed...staring you in the face.

i have taken liberty with billy's pic and highlighted the areas in question to help those of that do not see it. (billy i hope you do not mind, but you pic was perfect to use to show this)

check out my highlighted version and compare it with the non highlighted version and you will see for yourself that blade did an excellent piece of work here.....

1 "ghost" down....plenty to go :)

oh and Hi all, I'm new here hehe

here's the pic,

On the way back, we decided to drive by the "infamous" house and take a few pictures. What I didn't realize until months later, through an email from someone, that there were three faces in-side of the snowflakes on the photo. It has always been claimed that three people committed the murders of the DeFeo family, and for me, this just reassures that belief.

Here is a link to the EVP website. please check it out.

btw/those are snowflakes and not orbs as some think they are.
