Paintings and going into business

Post by KevinW » Sun Oct 14, 2012 5:05 pm

Since I last posted about my paintings, I've done a couple more paintings inspired by my trip down to Moonville. Here are the first two that I did back in June/July:

The next one I did was inspired by a picture I took looking out the west portal of the tunnel (http://chatanuga.org/pics/moonville/mv0092.jpg).

This afternoon, I did another one looking out the west portal of the tunnel as well, but this time I turned the canvas to landscape instead of portrait and set the scene early on a fall evening with the sun setting behind the hills and the trees ablaze with colors.

Things are also moving forward with starting up my business so that I can sell my paintings.
  • 1. I have an EIN (Employer Identification Number) from the IRS.

    2. My business "KLW Art" is registered with the State of Ohio.

    3. I now have a vendor's license for here in Franklin County so that I can sell my paintings at art shows, flea markets, etc.

    4. My delivery vendor's license with the State (for mail, phone, and internet sales) should be arriving soon since the check has cleared my checking account.

    5. This past week, I opened up a business checking account to keep personal and business expenses, money, etc. separate.

    6. I also purchased the domains klwart.com and klw-art.com for starting up my website.
The big thing now is to get the website up. It's already in the outline stages. The only hurdles with that now are deciding which carrier (USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.) I want to go with as well as figure out an online shopping cart so I can take orders. :D

Thanks! Like Bob Ross said, if your art makes just one person happy, then you're truly an artist. :D

My wife is always urging me to write and get back into drawing. I
need some motivation I suppose...
