Gaytime icecreams were an invention of the 1970's and it wasn't until the 1980's or so the name took on it's double meaning and the subject of many jokes.

One of the many television commercials from the '70's (or '80's) included a guy in a phone box suddenly accompanied by a group of other people jammed into the one box ... he then sings "it's so hard to have a Gaytime on your own!".

Name aside they are quite a delicious treat!

Smurfs arrested over Melbourne assault

Four "Smurfs" who allegedly assaulted a man after he refused to light a cigarette for Papa Smurf have handed themselves in to police.

A 37-year-old Pascoe Vale man was allegedly attacked outside a Melbourne convenience store after he was approached by the men dressed as Smurfs on Sunday, December 16.

A man dressed as Papa Smurf reportedly asked for a smoke after the alleged victim bought cigarettes from the 7-Eleven store.

He then demanded the cigarette be lit before it was handed to him.

The man was allegedly assaulted after he refused to light the cigarette.

Papa Smurf and three other men, who were also dressed as characters from the 1980s children's show at the time, appeared to be trying to jump-start a white VS Commodore.

The next time a Smurf comes up asking you for a smoke, ignore him ... better yet, run!

Meanwhile, next door, in New Zealand -
The following message was apparently left on an answer-phone when the caller mis-dialled. The involved parties would appear to be from Stokes Valley. Could someone let the ‘Rachel’ mentioned know that Karen wants her $20 back. Thank you.

The first time an unidentified flying object was seen in Clayton South, back in April 1966, it sparked mayhem, as dozens of screaming school children ran towards the pine grove where the silvery saucer-shaped object descended from the sky.

Almost five decades later, another UFO is scheduled to land in the same spot, but this time, the childish squeals should be excitement, not terror.

Capitalising on the notoriety of the biggest mass UFO sighting in Australian history, Kingston Council will in June install a $150,000 UFO-themed playground in Grange Reserve, featuring a 3.3 metre high spaceship big enough to hold seven children at a time. The silver spaceship, loosely inspired by the descriptions of witnesses back in 1966, will be trimmed with blue LED lighting, says Steve Perumal, the council officer who designed the park in collaboration with landscape design firm Urban Initiatives.

'Peking duck, anyone?'
It is better to return a borrowed pot with a little something you last cooked in it.

They had a documentary on the History Channel or Discovery Channel (can't remember which) over a year ago, on this particular incident.

Another more recent incident (in 1988) involved the Knowles family while travelling across the Nullabor plains. Here is the link:

POLICE are seeking public assistance after a woman was thrown in the air and petrol left gushing from a broken bowser in a daring drive-off at Mt Warren Park, southeast Queensland, last week. Police said drivers were so determined to steal petrol they were now risking the lives of their family and friends.

As soon as I saw it was in Queensland I thought to myself "enough said". Other Australian board members will know what I mean.

We basically liken Queenslander's in the IQ range comparable to some of the good old gun totin' folks from Texas (Howard excepted of course).

An Australian man that set up video cameras in his house hoping to capture evidence of ghosts got a strange scare after he reviewed one of the cameras. When he reviewed the footage, he discovered his 28-year-old girlfriend having sex with his 16-year-old son, reported the Mercury yesterday.
