"The Onion" - America's Finest News Source

Post by BillyCigars » Sun Mar 09, 2008 1:34 pm

This has always been one of my favorite "News Sources". I mentioned The Onion in another post but wasn't sure if anyone here ever reads it (or watches their clips).

If you haven't read/watched any of their articles/news programs, you oughtta check it out. It's not "fake" news like the National Inquirer, it's more like "stupid" news. Totally fabricated, its a laugh riot.

Headlines like this:

In The Know: How Can We Make The War In Iraq More Eco-Friendly?

Panelists discuss ways to wage a greener war in Iraq, such as driving biodegradable tanks and shocking detainees' testicles with wind power.

ROFLOL

Check it out at TheOnion.Com

What the hell? That is so stupid! So, so stupid! Anyone knows that it would be best to use SOLAR power in Iraq rather than wind...

Yes, I love the Onion, too. Reminds me of the old days of the National Lampoon magazine (but with less nudity)...

The Onion is so dang funny!
I read a headline awhile back that said, "While watching the Super Bowl, gay man sees Janet's nipple and turns straight!"

"Black girl turns white after eight hour enima!"

"Viagra: The quicker-dicker-upper!"

"Elizabeth Taylor's gynocologyst tells all!"
"Keep the colors of orange and black in your heart year round.
I love Halloween."

I love The Onion. I think it was actually better a few years back, before the redesign. I'm not sure if it's under new ownership or what. But regardless, it's still pretty damned funny!

The Onion reminds me of those old newspapers that you could by at the checkout counter at the grocery store.
There was one called World Weekly News that had some of the funniest headlines.
They loved making headlines featuring UFO's, Elvis, and this boy they called Bat Boy.
But, The Onion is funnier.

So The Onion is a tabloid that doesn't take itself seriously?

Yes it does. Which brings to bear the question to you:
Why did you wait until post # 879 to ask that question?
Everyone knows that 8 is after 7 and before 9...but you decided to change the order of the number system to ask a question to advance you own knowledge :?:
#789 instead of #879...would have been more aligned with your question, but since #879 is given,... I guess your question will go unanswered.. until answer #987

The Onion article wrote:"Peters then cut the ribbon on the inaugural lane by speeding through it in a rusted-out 1984 Chevy Cavalier, steering with her knees as her left hand held a cup of hot coffee aloft and her right hand slapped her 4-year-old daughter sitting in the back seat."
