Trip to Thurmond, West Virginia

Post by KevinW » Sun Oct 05, 2014 9:08 am

Made the trip down to Thurmond, West Virginia again this past Wednesday, hoping to see the fall colors. Unfortunately, the colors down there haven't changed as much as here in central Ohio. But it was a great road trip in my new 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. Plus, there was all of the scenery along the trip as well as the history and trains in Thurmond.

This is part one of the trip, from just north of the Ohio River to Hurricane, West Virginia, where I stopped to top off my gas tank.

I then got on I-64 to head east to head south on I-77. After passing through the tolls, I stopped for lunch at the rest area.

I then headed on to Thurmond and even drove around on the very narrow road that winds around the town.

I then did some railfanning/exploring around town.

It was an awesome trip and well worth the drive down. :)

All football is is a bunch of over-pumped jocks on steroids who say they're straight while they smack each other's behinds and chase each other around on a field so they can tackle another guy to play with that guy's ball.
