I saw this photo years ago. It chills me, not because of its features, but because of it's implications. I see spirits, always have. When someone dies, especially in such a tragic way, sometimes they get "stuck"...not realizing or wanting to believe that their body has died. I've heard many psychics say that there are ways to help them, guide them, if you will, to what some people call "heaven" ....I think that sometimes, regardless of what the living do to "help" them, they refuse to leave and stay on in the places they were most attached to, or that they were bound to at the time of their death.

I think this is the youngest boy in the DeFeo clan. It saddens me to think he may be forever tied to the house.

Interesting. Let us know if you still feel this way after you read the previous posts in this thread.

Do ghosts usually wear glasses that reflect light when their photo is taken?

Exactly and I don't think a ghost would of stole Paul Bartz's shirt either.

I'm utterly fascinated by everything involving the Amityville murders/haunting, though I've read enough to personally believe nothing supernatural happened in that house. I also do not believe the image of the little boy is an actual ghost photo.

That being said, I can't even look at the damn thing.

I honestly hate the History Channel for what they did to me. They're talking about time lapsed photos, I internally roll my eyes and lean closer to see whatever 'orb' they were going to try and show me.

Cue dramatic sudden music and close up of little boy.

I was 25. I nodded, calmly crawled under my blankets, and called my mom from my cell phone so I could get an escort downstairs.

I think that it's John Ghost or the imaginary friend of Missy

AddictedDefeoFamily it certainly does bare an eerie resemblance to the youngest Defeo, or so I've always thought.

I have been reading some of the posts on this thread again, I understand that it's now accepted that the photo is of one of the investigators there at the time.

Were there any other images found with this person in? If the camera was set to take a snap every 60 seconds or so, did they capture anyone else? I would have expected to have seen a few photographs with people in, moving around the house etc.

Is there anywhere that has all the pictures from the investigation? Were they ever released ? That's the part of the story I would love to know more about.

George Lutz wanted to release them in a "picture book" back in the early 80's, and then again around 2000, both times it never quite happened though. Various ones turn up in documentaries.

That's a shame, would love to have seen that picture book.

Do you think that that's it now, with George gone? Or is there a chance someone else could carry his idea on?

I don't think this is a ghost. Neither Defeo boys wore glasses and a ghost wouldn't wear them would they? Although it doesn't exactly look like Bartz either. The hair looks different but it's hard to tell with him sitting like that.

Admittedly the 'ghost boy' photo, is a little freaky ... considering the resemblance of the 'ghost boy' and Marc Gregory DeFeo (in my opinion), although a lot of people say the 'ghost boy' resembles John Matthew DeFeo.

Here is an interesting article about the photo: http://doubtfulnews.com/2012/04/who-was ... ghost-boy/

It makes me wonder, how freaky would the photo be, if it was in colour? ... I'm guessing not much.

Color would help match up plaid colors for sure.

I wonder if anyone attending that evening has ever been asked about the photo? Someone here emailed Paul Bartz (who I believe has now passed away), but his answer was evasive and vague. It has been assumed that his non-denial is basically an admittance. But who else would know?

The people who have information are dead, not talking/reclusive, or not credible. But certainly someone somewhere has useful information.

Lorraine Warren: Keep your hauntings in the fiction section

Post by Amit Y Ville » Sun Oct 07, 2018 2:59 pm

Didnt someone validate that boy looked exactly like the boy who got shot in the house tho? So it couldn't be an "assistant" of the Warrens. Also, a ghost couldnt possibly be a living person, so that point makes no sense.

Nope. And I don't think either of the younger DeFeo boys wore glasses.

According to George, Missy saw the photo and said it was the little boy that she used to play in the house with (which would be Jodie).

Exactly. Meaning it wasn't a ghost after all, but rather a photo of an ordinary person. Captured in a pose which made him appear to be shorter/smaller than he was (which, to some, made him look like a little boy).

I believe it is the ghost of the little boy who got shot. The whole Paul Bartz thing screams of disinfo to me.

The "whole Paul Bartz" thing is the result of some very careful investigation and deduction. We have a whole thread about it on this very board. We even contacted Paul Bartz and confronted him about it, to which he replied: "The image in the photo you mention does resemble me and I know that Ed (now deceased) and Lorraine went on record (including national tv) stating it was a ghost. Because I have great respect and admiration for them, I will say no more on the issue, allowing the legend of the most haunted house in America, to continue."

That reply from Paul screams of a confession to me.

I'm not out to discredit the Lutzes or the haunting -- but I am here to dig through all the BS in order to hopefully get a better view of the truth...

As it stands now, I believe the Lutzes experienced something (not sure what), but I think they quickly found themselves surrounded by phonies...

But you said yourself Missy said the picture of the boy was Jodie. It could also Paul looked similar to the child, which could be coincidence.
