From the previews, it looks like the movie has very little in common with the real story. The Warrens are not going to be featured and Lorraine Warren didn't have any input or cameos as she did in The Conjeuring.

Saw the movie and was disappointed that they made only passing references to the real story. This one was like the prequel to the prequel of the "The Conjuring". The story featured here is totally fiction, there is only a couple of references to the nurses who bought the real doll.

The movie worked well as a horror movie, lots of frights and that. It just is not nearly as good as The Conjuring. Ironically the lead actress in this film is named Annabelle Wallis.

Ain't that the truth Victoria. After seeing the movie and remembering the original story in the Demonologist I was like WTH!? The movie version was total sensationalized crap, of course considering the Warrens are involved I shouldn't have expected anything more. lol

Boring movie with some good scares.

Think I saw a doll resembling the real Annabelle on a shelf in the final shot...

~An Evening With Annabelle~
LECTURE, CASE FILES, VIEWING, & BANQUET DINNER
WITH LORRAINE WARREN & TONY SPERA

Now, for the first time, " Annabelle " the cursed doll will be unveiled and shown to the general public- away from its usual, secure resting place.

Due to overwhelming interest and demand, " Annabelle " will be transported from its usual place in the Occult museum, and brought to a public location for viewing.

" Annabelle " is the doll made famous in the popular movie by the same name.

The location will remain secret and revealed only to those who sign up and pay for this chance of a lifetime event. This is your chance to view and pose beside one of the most infamous and dangerous objects known to the preternatural realm.

Although great caution will be exercised with respect to the transport and viewing of " ANNABELLE " - all who decide to come and view the doll in person must sign a release form - absolving us from all responsibility and liability - you will come and view Annabelle at your own risk.

Annabelle is believed to be responsible for the death of a young man who witnessed the doll, and made the tragic mistake of challenging its ability to cause harm.

The young man ran up to the doll ( housed in its protective display case ) tapped on the glass door, and challenged aloud " That doll is nothing but a joke. If that doll can put slashes on people, do it to me right now! "

Ed Warren had to put the young man out of the museum. Three hours later, the young man was dead, colliding head on into a tree while on his motorcycle. Was it the doll who caused this tragedy?

Your evening will begin at a restaurant banquet room located in South Western Connecticut.
There, you will dine on a fine Buffet dinner, consisting of chicken, fish, meat and pasta.

Then, you will witness a video which details the true, terrifying story of Annabelle.
You will also be shown a video tour of the Warren's occult museum, hosted by Tony Spera and the late Ed Warren. Mr. Warren will discuss in great detail, the various cursed artifacts housed within the museum, including of course, " Annabelle."

The Warren's books, as well as T-shirts and " Annabelle " posters will also be offered for sale, autographed by Mrs. Warren.

At the end of the evening, Annabelle will be unveiled. You will be allowed to view the doll, and have your photograph taken standing beside her.

NOTE: For those wondering how " Annabelle " will be removed from its usual case and into a secured portable one;

First we will drench our hands in a container of " Blessed Holy Water " Special ritualistic binding prayers will be

recited. Then, we will use a thick comforter to wrap the doll, and carefully remove it.

Our hands will never directly contact or touch the doll.

Do not miss this extremely rare opportunity to view in person one of the most infamous and Diabolical objects from the occult realm.

Demon Doll 'Annabelle' Will Haunt Again in Scary Sequel

The possessed doll lives in Ed and Lorraine Warren's Occult Museum in Monroe, Conn. and is rumored to be returning to the big screen.

The 2014 movie Annabelle was a follow-up to the blockbuster The Conjuring, and based on one of more than 10,000 cases they investigated. At a lecture in Shelton last October, Warren’s son-in-law Tony Spera told listeners that Hollywood’s version of what really happened with the possessed doll was only “one percent accurate.”

“They didn’t call us to consult with them like they did for The Conjuring,” Spera explained. “All they got right was the name of the doll and that she was possessed.”

Breaking news this Tuesday morning as Bloody can confirm New Line Cinema will be releasing Annabelle 2 in theaters on May 19, 2017. This would mean yet another horror movie opening in the summer. James Wan’s The Conjuring 2 is going to explode into theaters on June 10th of this year.

New Line has massive confidence in this franchise, which began when The Conjuring destroyed all in the summer of 2013 (July 19) taking in over $300 million worldwide at the box office.

The Annabelle spinoff drew in nearly $250 million in box office revenue.

Annabelle was a pretty mediocre movie, but I must admit, it possesses a throwback quality and innocence that somehow endears me to it.

I actually enjoyed it, however bad the ending was.

If I was 13 and this was my first horror movie ever, I'd be a fan of the genre for sure.
